Google Calendar connection

Privacy notice

This notice covers the Google Calendar connection used by LifeOS, a private personal planning application maintained by Brian Zemaitis.

Access and use

With the account owner's authorization, LifeOS reads selected calendar metadata and event information, including titles, dates and times, event identifiers, recurrence and all-day information. It reads attendee and organizer information and response status to determine whether an event involves the owner.

LifeOS uses this information to display daily and weekly commitments and calculate planning capacity. Calendar permissions are read-only. The connection requests calendar.events.readonly and calendar.calendarlist.readonly; it does not create, change or delete Google Calendar events.

Storage and service providers

Calendar requests and token refreshes are performed on the server. Google provides Calendar and OAuth services. Vercel hosts the application and its production runtime cache; those services process the information needed to provide these functions.

The configured production snapshot cache uses a six-hour time-to-live. A separate five-minute freshness interval controls refresh attempts. These intervals are not guarantees about provider backup or log erasure. Local development may retain private snapshot files until the operator removes them.

OAuth credentials are kept in server configuration or the owner's local authorization environment, separately from the displayed planning snapshot. Revoking access does not itself remove those stored credentials or existing cached copies.

Control and removal

The owner can revoke LifeOS access through Google Account connections. Revocation prevents future authorized reads, but does not automatically erase existing LifeOS snapshots or locally stored credentials.

For removal of retained LifeOS Calendar data, contact zemaitistouch@gmail.com. The operator must separately remove retained local files, credentials and accessible cached copies when ending the connection. No instant provider-wide deletion is promised.
